Mobile friendly website for QBS group

Our website is now easily accessible for users of mobile telephones.

In November 2015 QBS group moved their website to an ‘adaptive’ design. This means that the website is easily accessible by using a mobile telephone. On the advice of Sander van Leeuwen, online marketer with QBS group, it was a necessary step. Sander: “Over the last two years, we have seen a considerable increase in the number of visitors to our website through mobile telephones. In order to provide our website visitors with a good user experience, we decided to optimise our website for mobile usage.”

An efficient approach

The project started in the summer of 2015 and was approached efficiently. Sander: “The complete website of QBS group consists of over 1200 pages in 10 different languages. So it would be a lot of work to build a complete new website, which wasn’t necessary as all we wanted was a website that was easily accessible for visitors with mobile phones. So we decided to ‘reuse’ the old website as much as possible. As far as content is concerned, the website stayed pretty much the same. The only thing that was ‘freshened up’ was the website’s look and feel.”

An adaptive website

The website of QBS group is now an ‘adaptive’ website which is more than just a ‘responsive’ website. Sander: “A ‘responsive’ website means that the content of the website stays the same on every device. An ‘adaptive’ website, however, shows different content on different devices. For example certain images are not shown on mobile devices. Also tables that are not suitable for mobile devices are not shown.”

It has only just begun

QBS group’s adaptive website went live successfully, but that doesn’t mean the work is over. Sander: “It has only just begun. Releasing a new website means the start of a new phase. We are now going to see how the mobile version of our website is being used and how we can improve this. For example, if we see that more people register for events on the mobile version of our website than on the desktop version, we can choose to move the link for registering higher up the page on the mobile version. And in that way increase registrations.”

Marketing partners

The new website was made possible by QBS marketing partners Spankracht and Maxdoro. Sander: “Spankracht took care of the new ‘look and feel’ and Maxdoro was responsible for coding. I’d like to say thanks to both partners for their hard work. They’ve done a great job.”

OneBizz goes to Spain

On Monday the 16th of November we introduced OneBizz, the Smart Business Software, to Microsoft Dynamics and Office partners in Spain. After the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark and Germany, Spain is now the fifth country in which OneBizz has been introduced to the partner community.

Together with management of Microsoft Spain, Joop van Voorthuijsen, CEO of QBS group, introduced OneBizz and the advantages of our partner model to an interested audience of more than 70 partners. The feedback was very positive and several partners directly stated that they plan to be a future OneBizz partner. The introduction of OneBizz took place on the same day as QBShare Spain, which also was a very successful partner event.

A LOGICAL STEP

Spain is a country where QBS group is very successful and has many partners. The introduction of OneBizz in Spain therefore is a logical step.

No more sails in Microsoft Dynamics logo

Microsoft has announced some important changes in its branding strategy. One of the changes is that the three sails are gone from the well-known Microsoft Dynamics logo.

The changes are the result of the ‘One Microsoft’ approach of CEO Satya Nadella. Microsoft wants users to combine different Microsoft solutions and use them as one. Different logos for different solutions don’t fit the approach of ‘Microsoft as a complete solution’ and therefore Microsoft’s branding is now more uniform. You can see an example of the new branding strategy and logos below.

New logo for Microsoft Dynamics

One of the major changes is a new logo for Microsoft Dynamics. The logo no longer has the three sails in it. It is now a blue boxtile with the name of the specific solution on the left upper side (see example below).

Microsoft has also developed new Dynamics-icons for apps (see example below).

How to use the new branding strategy

Microsoft would like partners to use the new logos in their communication materials. But for now this only applies to new materials, so it is not necessary to update all of your existing materials.

For more information on the new branding strategy, please download the new branding guidelines here at PartnerSource. The now logos can be downloaded here (also on PartnerSource).

Microsoft unveils Dynamics NAV 2016

The next version of Microsoft’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial solution aimed at SMBs will be called Dynamics NAV 2016, Microsoft announced this week at its 2015 WorldwidePartner Conference (WPC) in Orlando.

Microsoft provided an early look at the upcoming Dynamics NAV 2016, code-named “Corfu,” during one of the various sessions at WPC this week.

According to the overview, NAV 2016 will include the ability to work natively with Power BI, Azure SQL and Dynamics CRM Online; improvements to usability; electronic invoicing; workflow and functionality improvements; and a test automation suite for partners.

Microsoft also plans to issue monthly updates to the product, with new releases coming once per year.

So far a formal release date of NAV 2016 has not been communicated. The current release, Dynamics NAV 2015, was released in October 2014.
