Upgrade from CRM Online to Dynamics 365 in simpel three steps

Since November 2016, Microsoft has released Dynamics 365 to integrate Dynamics with Office 365. Signing up new customers is quite easy – but what about your existing CRM Online customers? How do you get them to Dynamics 365? In this short blog-post I will explain in 3 steps how to make a smooth transition from CRM Online to Dynamics 365.
1. Buy new Dynamics 365 licenses
Qualified offers for current CRM Online customers are available via CSP. The picture below shows you an overview of the special transition SKU`s.
Please note that these instructions will only work for customers you want to move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Enterprise Edition. It is not possible to take advantage of the Dynamics 365 Enterprise Edition SMB offer for existing customers.
2. Switch the licenses
Switch the licenses via the Admin center in Office 365.
Enable the Dynamics 365 transition licenses and disable the old once.
*Don`t forget to cancel the old subscription plan.

3. Schedule update to Dynamics 365
Once the licenses are switched, it is time to schedule the update to Dynamics 365.
Go to Office 365 Admin center click on Dynamics 365.
Click on Updates and schedule / approve the update to Dynamics 365.
CRM Online has been updated to Dynamics 365.
